The Call of the Wild came out on Feb. 21, 2020, starring Harrison Ford, which you may know as Indiana Jones. This adventurous movie is the story of a brave dog, Buck, which values loyalty, friendship and determination. This movie is categorized in the drama and adventure genre. Right from the opening scene of this film, you are drawn straight to the heart of this dog and all his sacrifices, abuse and best friends.
In the opening scene, you can easily tell that the dog is not real, but special effects. This bothered me for a minute, but soon you will get used to it and not even notice the difference. Plus, you are reassured that there was no actual animal that went through the hardships that Buck did. The amount of pain and struggle that Buck experienced will break you to pieces. He fought through capture, abuse, death and more. However, he fought to the end and wound up exactly where he belonged.
I would rate this film five out of five stars undoubtedly. The audience is captured right from the start and wants everything to work out for Buck, Harrison Ford and every friend along the way. Some characters will make you so angry that you feel you are right there in the movie.
This is definitely a movie that you could enjoy with friends and especially family. It is heartwarming to see the love Buck gives off, yet heartbreaking to see what he has had to go through. The end will leave you happy for Buck’s future, yet longing for his best friend to come back.
