The Netflix original television show, Locke and Key, released its first season to the network on Feb. 7, 2020. The season includes 10 episodes and confirmed in March that a second season is coming. After the Locke family moved into Keyhouse, the three children—Bode, Kinsey and Tyler—began to make startling discoveries. This show filled with mysteries will leave you on the edge of your seat following the unique lives and uncovering the deepest secrets of the Locke family.
If I’m being honest, I was skeptical of the show when I first started watching. I imagined it to be some cheesy acting with a storyline I wouldn’t be interested in. I was proven wrong however, and drawn in by the mysteries and strange things going on in the Keyhouse and the Lockes’ lives. It was nice to see different people’s perspectives instead of only focusing on one character and their whereabouts.
I would rate this show four and a half out of five stars. You think you know exactly what is about to happen, but by the end of the season you are thrown a curveball and have to catch yourself up with what is actually true and what was an illusion. This Netflix original can be quite dark at times and sexual only one time I can remember, so this wouldn’t be for younger viewers.
This is definitely a movie that you could binge watch in a day or two. It was so difficult to not just continue watching the next episode, and then the next. I enjoyed it on my own with my own opinion, but I’m sure this would be great with family and even friends. Plus, turns out the idea of this television show came from a comic series. From a perspective of not reading the comics, this show is a hit.
