On Feb. 13 the Lake Central Theater Company performed “Zombie Prom, the last show to be performed in the current auditorium. “Zombie Prom” was a comedic musical about a high school love story that continued to grow when the other may or may not have been dead.
“I think the show went pretty well. Every performance got better and better because we knew what our mistakes were and we fixed them and we had good actors,” Brett Balicki (10) said.
The main actors of “Zombie Prom” included: Mia Gjeldum (12), who performed her eighth and final show at Lake Central, Lauren Bourget (12), who also performed her eighth and final show, Caroline Janiga (12), “Zombie Prom” being her 15th show, Zachary Buntin (12,) who played the lead of Jonny, Brett Balicki (10), Adam Gustas (9), Austin Traina (10) and Parker Danner (9). Before the performance, the actors do various things to prepare themselves.
“Every time before we do a performance we do a warm-up and we do tongue twisters and get into character and learn phrases and say them as our character would say them,” Balicki said.
For the seniors of the cast and crew, the production of “Zombie Prom” was their final goodbye in the current auditorium.
“Its different for me because its my first year here and it was my first and last performance. I felt honored to be in the last performance because I knew that there was a legacy and the auditorium had history and it was awesome to be able to cap it all off,” said Holly Alexander (12).
