The JV volleyball team played against the Valparaiso Vikings last night on Sept. 17. The first set started at 5:15 p.m., and all the starting players were warmed up and ready to play. The Indians dominated the first game with a score of 25-9.
“The first game was full of intensity,” Kaylee Marovich (10).
During the second set, Valparaiso started to gain a lead. When the Indians called a timeout, the Vikings were ahead by five points.
“We were trying to stay positive the whole time,” Rachel Furmanek (11) said.
Halfway through the second set, a player on the Valparaiso team was injured, and their coach tried to substitute another player in illegally. The coach received a yellow card for the attempt.
“I’m happy that they caught it,” Peyton Crnjak (9) said.
The second set ended with a Lake Central win. It was a close game and it ended with a score of 25-22.
“It was exciting because Valpo is a good team and it’s always fun to beat them,” Olivia Rogers (10).
