Lana Del Rey releases new album ‘Ultraviolence’

Lana Del Rey performs on stage for day three of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival April 13, 2014 in Indio, Calif. Her new album Ultraviolence was released on June 18, 2014.

On June 17 Lana del Rey released her newest album Ultraviolence.

This new album was highly anticipated among most of her fans as it features a different feel from her past work. Born to Die and Paradise told of del Rey’s past relationships and how in love she was with men, money and drugs. Del Rey still sings of these things in Ultraviolence, but in a different, darker manner. Lana del Rey teamed up with Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys to create this album, which she attributes much of her change of style.

Lana del Rey premiered the first song of her new album, ‘West Coast’ at Coachella on April 20. The next songs premiered weeks apart until the final album release.

Ultraviolence is currently number one on the iTunes top albums chart.

Now on a completely personal note: I totally love Lana del Rey.  She’s one of my favorite artists, but this album I’m not too sure about.  I really love the song ‘West Coast’, but I haven’t gotten used to her new style really.   I’m sure the more I listen to it, the more I will get used to it, but I haven’t gotten to that point yet.
