This past Wednesday on Aug. 24, the Lake Central Girls Golf team took on Portage for their first match of the season. The match took place at Palmira Golf Course in Saint John.
Even though it was extremely humid with a scorching 93 degree temperature, the girls managed to kick the season off to a great start by defeating Portage 180-227. “The team improved a lot from last year; we practiced really hard over the winter and it’s showing,” Megan Falat (12) said.
Not only was this an astonishing 47 point lead, but it was also the lowest the team had shot this season. The girls were very excited about their amazing start to the season and look forward to improving their scores further.
“I think we’re going to have a really successful season. I really hope to win sectionals,” Falat said.
