On Dec. 8, Lake Central’s freshman boys basketball team played against Merrillville. The boys played a great game, but Merrillville held a slight lead at the end of the game. The final score was 31-36.
“[We could improve on] our defense, boxing out and our attitude,” Westen Black (9) said.
Being the beginning of their season, the team has plenty of time to critique their plays and better their strategies.
“[We can improve on] playing defense and not being selfish,” Adam Reyes (9) said.
At that start of the game, Lake Central was in the lead.
“[We did well with] shooting, rebounds and defense in the first half,” Black said.
With a long road ahead of them, the boys will work hard to reach their goals.
“[Our future goals are] to play well as a team and it can’t be all about yourself. Think about your teammates,” Reyes said.
