On Tuesday Jan. 20, the varsity swim team traveled to Crown Point. The final score of the meet was 116-67.
“Crown Point is a ‘Top Eight’ state team, but [facing them] was definitely a challenge. Overall we didn’t do that bad. Coach [Todd] Smolinski, [Social Studies], was happy with our times,” Marina Vasquez (11) said.
The swim season is nearing Sectionals. During this time, it takes hard work, dedication and time to prepare.
“We are in our championship part of the season, so we’re getting close to Sectionals. The times so far are pretty good,” Victoria Springman (11) said.
In addition to working hard, the team has also set goals for the end of the season.
“[Some of our goals include getting] top eight at Sectionals, as much people down to state as we can and potentially [getting] top 16 at State,” Vasquez said.
