St. Baldricks is an organization that spreads awareness about pediatric cancer research. People participate by shaving their head and donating funds to the charity. This event is all volunteer-driven and anyone can take part.
Committed to funding the research, this organization dramatically gained momentum through the continued effort from their volunteers to support the fight against childhood cancers. And now for another year, St. Baldrick’s is coming to St. John.
Each year more children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease — in fact, more than many other childhood diseases combined. For many years, researchers struggled to give kids just a few more months of life. While many kids now survive, the search goes on for cures for many childhood cancers.
This event is catching on across the country and even though Lake Central is not hosting it again this year, participants are highly wanted and needed for being their volunteers.
If you’re interested in attending this event, commencement will be before or after St. Patrick’s Day next month at the Quest in St. John. Keep updated on their website if you have any questions.
