The varsity softball team welcomed visitors from Kimberly, WI, on Saturday, April 4. The Indians defeated the Kimberly Papermakers 11-5.
“We have never played an out-of-state team before, so we didn’t know what to expect. We just played our game, and our hitting really came together for this game,” Sydney Scherzinger (12) said.
Madison Blythe (10) hit a home run, which brought in three points for the Indians.
“The game went really well and better than I think everyone expected. They didn’t have their number-one pitcher, but they were a pretty solid team. I really think that game gave us some confidence that we really needed, and now we’re on a three game winning streak since then,” Aspyn Novak (12) said.
The victory over the Papermakers makes the Indians’ record 2-1-1. The team will play at LaPorte on Tuesday, April 7 at 4:30 p.m.
