Must See Attractions for Visitors to Central Lake

As everyone lives here knows, there are lots of attractions and activities to be found in our little town; but if you’re a visitor to the area then you might not have had time to get to know what the most important and exciting landmarks and events are. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to find out about all the goings on in the local area from travel advisors. However, to save you time, we’ve picked out the best of the bunch to help you decide how to spend your stay here.

For a start, if you want to get involved and learn about our town’s history and culture, then why not take a visit to the Bellaire Historical Museum? There’s loads of fascinating information to be found on the town’s origin, complete with exhibits and memorabilia from the logging area. The museum covers in depth the time period from 1865 to around 1965 so there’s plenty to learn and discover.

What’s more, if you want to experience a taste of the local culture then you simply must make a visit to Friske’s Farm Market open all year round and featuring delicacies from the local area. Make sure you pay a visit in particular to the Old World Bakery, the Orchard Café and, if you’ve got children, the Orchard Playland.

Anyone who loves beer simply must visit the Bellaire Shorts Brewing Company. The 100 year old brick building was refurbished into a pub back in 2003, offering up to 20 home made beers on tap. The pub has been singled out and praised for its relaxed atmosphere and is ideal for a de-stress – just make sure you don’t go by car!

On the other hand, if you’re looking for a more active holiday then you can always rent a boat on Lake Charlevoix, a voted Best Lake in America East of Lake Tahoe. You can go parasailing, or just visit the local beaches and restaurants. Alternatively, try out the nearby valleys next to Boyne City where you can take part in Michigan’s number one Zip Line Canopy tour, giving you some amazing views of the lake from 5000 Free in the air.

One of the really nice things about Central Lake is that, whilst the town itself is quite small and homely, making it the ideal place to kick back and relax, it’s still really easy to venture out to nearby cities. If you fancy trying out your gambling skills, then there’s even a couple of casinos in the area – the nearest one being Leelanau Sands Casino in Suttons Bay – a mere 20 miles from central lake. Alternatively, if you like the quiet life then there’s plenty of casinos available online for you to try – so you can sit back and relax in peace whilst playing some of the best bingo sites on the web.
