Artist Lana del Rey performed at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater in Tinley Park, Ill. on May 30. People from all over the region joined the crowd for one of the first stops of her “Endless Summer” tour.
“I loved being with one of my best friends listening to one of our favorite musicians, and I loved having the opportunity to see Lana up close and live yet again,” Sean Meyer (12) said.
Artist Grimes was the opening performer for del Rey during the Endless Summer Tour. Grimes has played electronic R&B since 2010 when she discovered the genre on MySpace.
“Grimes was, well, interesting. [She was not] what I expected; in fact, I didn’t even know there was a show opener. I laughed a lot during her performance because it was so weird,” Hannah Bryner (’15) said.
The audience showed great devotion to the artists of the night, as most attendees sat through bitter cold rain to hear del Rey perform.
“Sitting in the freezing rain was definitely worth it. I love Lana as an artist, but seeing her in concert made me love her ten times more,” Emma Nelson (12) said.
