Q: How long have you coached the softball team?
A: “I am going into my seventh year as the head softball coach.”
Q: How did it feel to coach the 2015 team to state?
A: “Going to State was a surreal feeling. We put together an incredible stretch of games, beating the [first and second] ranked teams in the state to get there. The girls really came together and played great softball.”
Q: Did you do anything differently for the 2015 season than other seasons?
A: “I feel like there was more of a ‘loose’ feeling in the dugout this past season. We tried to emphasize not stressing about the past, but rather moving on to the next play.”
Q: How did it feel to be named the Post-Tribune Softball Coach of the Year?
A: “Being named Coach of the Year is a very humbling honor. The credit goes to both the girls on the team and my coaching staff for the hard work that they put in on a daily basis.”
Q: How are you looking forward to the 2016 season?
A: “We are very excited about 2016. We return a large number of girls that were a part of this historic run, and I know that they, and myself, are eager to work towards that goal again.”
