Many students go to SIP Coffee House and Artisan Cafe after school on Fridays or over the weekend. The cafe, previously named Tiffany’s Tea House, is located in Crown Point Square. It has many fun activities for their customers to partake in. SIP also has a variety of events that involve local bands and poets.
The most recent event that took place was a suicide awareness benefit. This event was open to the public, but a minimum of $5 was required for entry into the coffee house.
On Friday nights from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., local bands, poets and individual singers can be heard showing off their hard work to the customers. Anyone interested can perform, so there is a sign-up sheet hanging above the cash register.
SIP offers a variety of games and journals that customers can use while they are enjoying their coffee or food. The journals share many stories of strangers, along with many illustrations and inspirational quotes.
“[My favorite part is] the journals. Being able to share your feelings and thoughts with no fear of judgement is awesome,” Dana Brownewell (10) said.
