On Sept. 3 the JV girls soccer team triumphed over the Munster Mustangs. The game ended on Munster’s home field with a score of 1-0.
“[The high point during the game] was when we scored, because we were ahead of them, that gave us a boost of energy,” Kiersten Hess (10) said.
Hess scored the winning goal during a penalty kick at the end of the first half. The rest of the game was a fight against the clock to stay in the lead.
“I think we played pretty well considering it was really hot and humid. Munster is a pretty good team. It was pretty cool to beat them,” Kristina Jasnic (10) said.
Munster, being one of our biggest competitors, made this a close game. The game was played in 90 degree weather with the sun beating down on the players.
“I was shocked that [the ball] went in [the goal] because it was one of the only penalty kicks that I’ve ever taken. I was really excited,” Hess said.
The girls next game will Sept. 10th at Griffith High School at 5 p.m.
