The JV volleyball team played against the Valparaiso Vikings last night on Sept. 17. The first set started at 5:15 p.m., and all the starting players were warmed up and ready to play. The Indians dominated the first game with a score of 25-9.

“The first game was full of intensity,” Kaylee Marovich (10).

During the second set, Valparaiso started to gain a lead. When the Indians called a timeout, the Vikings were ahead by five points.

“We were trying to stay positive the whole time,” Rachel Furmanek (11) said.

Halfway through the second set, a player on the Valparaiso team was injured, and their coach tried to substitute another player in illegally. The coach received a yellow card for the attempt.

“I’m happy that they caught it,” Peyton Crnjak (9) said.

The second set ended with a Lake Central win. It was a close game and it ended with a score of 25-22.

“It was exciting because Valpo is a good team and it’s always fun to beat them,” Olivia Rogers (10).
