Going into the Dec. 9 game, varsity boys basketball players anticipated that it would be a close game. The boys defeated Gary West Side with a score of 56-39.
“I thought it was going to be a competitive game. In the first quarter, I thought to myself ‘West Side is looking pretty good,’ but going into the second half, we clicked together,” Norell Smith (11) said.
The boys were able to come together as a team to defeat their competition.
“What I like best [about] being on the team is that everyone has each other’s backs on the court,” Joseph Graziano (11) said.
After defeating Gary West Side on Dec. 9, the team is prepared to take on whichever team they will face next.
“I expect a really good game [on Friday]. Warsaw has a great team, and we will have to play our best to beat them,” Graziano said.
The boys will face Warsaw at home on Dec. 11.
