The Lake Central JV girls basketball team took on East Chicago on Wednesday, Dec. 16 in an emotional and aggressive game.
“Every game we go into a mindset that every game we bring the energy at 5:30 [p.m.] and don’t wait for varsity. The plan was just to go in and give it our all because we had a lot to prove against EC,” Ashley Todd (10) said.
Throughout the game, the girls passed the ball into the post due to the size of their players.
“We felt that getting it into our post was a big help because we have a lot of strength in the our post, and if it kept working, we would get easy buckets,” Todd said.
One thing the Lady Indians struggled with was defense. Due to an aggressive game there were lots of fouls between both teams.
“We definitely need to work on [our defense]. We fouled a lot and that got us into a lot of trouble in the game,” Todd said.
