The freshman girls basketball team took on the Crown Point Bulldogs on Thursday, Jan. 4, at home. The girls beat Crown Point with a final score of 30-28.
Despite their struggles throughout the first and second periods, with hard work and determination they pulled through and came out on top.
“At first we were struggling a little bit, but once we started to figure out we were not doing too [well], we picked it up,” Jaidyn Brown (9) said.
At the end of the third period, Lake Central was in the lead with a score of 20-18. However, at the beginning of the fourth period the Bulldogs snatched the lead with a score of 28-20.
“Our passes were really sloppy. We can play so much better. [We can improve on] passing, running our plays sharper and looking for open cutters,” Alayna Hand (9) said.
Throughout the game, the Lady Indians showed perseverance and did not let their feelings get in the way of how they played. With only minutes left, the team made a comeback, tying the score at 28-28. The Lady Indians, with two minutes left, scored two points and won the game.
