On Jan. 19, the varsity boys swimming team faced Crown Point, losing by only two points. The meet was at home from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“I [think] we did good as a team. I raced my hardest. Everyone tried their hardest and our coach led us as best as he could, and in the end it was just two points [that we lost by],” Logan Nippert (12) said.
The boys won their second event of the night, the 200-yard medley relay, with the final time of 1:41.63. Ryan Kilinski (11) won the 200-yard freestyle with the time of 1:49.01 and Alexander Morgan (12) won the one-meter dive with the final score of 2249.95. Logan Nippert (12) tied with Crown Point for the win of the 100-yard breaststroke with the final time of 1:02.12.
“We trained hard but we can do better. We all could have worked on our turns and better dolphin kicks. [I’m looking forward to] a better season next year because we have a lot of good freshmen,” Riley Ingram (9) said.
The boys next meet is Jan. 21 against Munster High School at home at 6 p.m.
