The JV swim team faced its rival, Munster High School, on Jan. 21. The boys lost 100-85.
“It was against Munster, so we might not have gotten them this year, but maybe next year [the boys will defeat Munster]. I’m still proud of my boys,” Coach Dale Ramsey said.
After the meet, some swimmers decided on what to work on for the remainder of the season.
“I could’ve worked on my flipturns, but overall I felt that I did okay. I’m excited about maybe being on varsity next year, and getting better [at swimming] ” Aaron Schassburger (10) said.
For some first-time swimmers, this season was taken as a success.
“This is my first year swimming, and I dropped 10 seconds off, so I would say I felt pretty good,” Weston Graham (11) said.
The swim team worked hard to finish strong on their last home meet of the season.
“We were down one of our best swimmers [Logan Nippert (12)] but I still think we held our own,” Schassburger said.
The next swim meet is at Portage High School on Jan. 26. at 5:30 p.m.
