The game against Valparaiso on Dec. 2, resulted in an exciting victory for the JV Girls Basketball team.
“We’re always prepared to win because we practice pretty hard all the time,” Rolanda Curington (10).
Although Valparaiso does not have a strong record, the Girls know that winning is never guaranteed.
“You never know what to expect from a team until you actually see them play,” Rolanda Curington (10) said.
With the unpredictability of games, the Girls know they must play to their best ability against any competitor.
“We still had to play our game, and we couldn’t play down to [Valparaiso],” Hamby said.
By halftime, the Girls were winning by 12, and their level of energy was high.
“Usually when we play a lower caliber of teams, we do a lot better because [when] we’re winning, everybody is happy,” Hamby said.
The game ended with a score of 35-20.
“We felt accomplished because it’s another win on our record, and that’s always good to have,” Curington said.
