Through snow, hail, rain and shine, the varsity boys baseball team managed to defeat Chesterton 1-0 on Thursday, April 7.
“As a team I think we played overall pretty good defense. We had very few errors and stayed in the game until the end,” Bradley Loden (11) said.
The strengths of the team did not only shine through in Thursday’s game. The boys have skills that will help them throughout the entire season.
“I think our strengths as a team this year are on the defensive side, along with our solid pitching staff,” Loden said.
While the team has strengths, they also have weaknesses that they will continue to work on.
“We are taking more batting [practices] and working on different hitting situations that could help us produce more runs,” Joseph Graziano (11) said.
However, the team remains optimistic as they look forward to how they can perform to the best of their abilities.
“I think we can make a far postseason run if we don’t lose our focus throughout the season,” Graziano said.
