On the evening of April 19, the JV baseball team took on Crown Point High School at home. The Indians won with a final score of 4-3.

Going into the game, some of the boys were anxious going up against rival Crown Point.

“Going into the game I was a little nervous, especially because it was against our rival Crown Point, but we knew if we played as well as we have been playing we could beat them,” Ray Hilbrich (10) said.

The beginning of the game was rocky for Lake Central, as they were losing 1-0. The losing streak did not last much longer.

“The game went really well. We could have done a few things better, but we were the better team overall and it showed with the win,” Marty Ewing (10) said.

During the fifth inning, the team stepped up to the plate and held the lead. Noah Wells (10) had a base hit, which was much needed in order to take the win.

“The outcome was as good as we could have hoped. Noah [Wells (10)] got a clutch hit and Andrew [Vanmilligan (11)] came in to shut them down,” Ray Hilbrich (10) said.
