The Commencement of Lake Central High School’s class of 2016 will be taking place on Wednesday, May 25.
CLOTHING:
All students must wear an approved Lake Central cap, gown and tassel. Tassels are worn on the right side of the cap. A light-colored dress, skirt and blouse or long slacks and dress shirts must be worn under the gown. Jeans, shorts and T-shirts are not allowed.
PICTURE:
At 8:30 a.m., a senior class picture will be taking in cap and gown at Lake Central High School. It is recommended that students arrive no later than 8:15 a.m.
MEETING:
Seniors are required to go to a meeting in the Fieldhouse directly following the class picture. During this meeting, a practice ceremony will be conducted, purchased tickets for the ceremony will be distributed and students will be given a name card with their name and seat number on which they may write the phonetic pronunciation of their name if needed. Students will be given a second card on which they must write a contact email to receive pictures. This meeting is mandatory, and students who do not attend may be ineligible to go to the commencement ceremony.
CEREMONY:
For the ceremony, students should park in the yellow and silver lots and be at the Fieldhouse by 7:00 p.m. for the ceremony. They should bring their cap, gown, tassel and name card. Students should accept their diploma cover with their left hand and shake with the right. Flowers and mementos will be available for purchase in the Town Square, and concessions will be available for purchase until 7:30 p.m. After receiving their diplomas, students should return to their designated seats and remain seated for the rest of the ceremony.
DIPLOMAS:
Diplomas may be picked up when they become available in the summer. A message will be sent from the school detailing the time and location of diploma pick-up.
