On Thursday, Aug. 25, the freshman boys football team faced the Munster Mustangs for the first game of the season at Lake Central High School. This was a major win for Lake Central’s freshman team, with a final score of 50-14.
“It is a great victory for us [to] start the year with a win, but there are a lot of things that we need to fix and get better at. We just want to make sure that we get better each and every week and learn from some mistakes,” Coach Tomson, Social Studies, said.
The boys were up 29-6 by halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the boys were up 50-6, and continued to play hard. Despite winning, the team believes they can improve on some areas.
“We just [have to] work on some small stuff [and] get everything perfect,” said Niko Hejl (9).
The next football game is Aug. 29. Come out and support the team.
