Over the weekend, the Varsity Girls Cheer team traveled to Illinois to participate in the North Pole Competition. The competition was the first time this season that the team competed in Illinois. Including the JV team, they were the only two teams at the competition from Indiana.
“We did ok, but we could have done a lot better. The other teams there were just really good,” Sydney Ollearis (10) said.
Facing tough teams, the Girls placed fourth out 12. The team was happy overall with the outcome but plan on fixing up the little mistakes. Their main problem was with their stunts.
“We need to improve on our stunting. We fell a lot during the performance,” Ollearis said.
This weekend, the team will head back to Illinois to compete in Arlington Heights for the Rolling Meadows Competition.
“This weekend we need to clean up our routine. We’ll need a good, clean routine, and we can’t fall during our stunts,” Ollearis said.
