Varsity Boys Basketball pounded the Crown Point Bulldogs 74-54 on Friday, Jan. 13.
“I feel the team had an excellent performance against Crown Point. We started off slow, but once we picked up the defensive pressure, Crown Point just couldn’t stay with us,” Zachary Gentz (12) said.
The Crown Point crowd chanted “Daddy’s better” and “overrated” to players such as Glenn Robinson III (12) as an attempt to distract them.
“The chanting doesn’t really bother us; they do it to try and make us mad. We’ve heard it all before, and we just use their chants as motivation to prove them wrong when they say something against our team,” Gentz said.
By the end of the game, Tyler Wideman (10) and Tye Wilburn (10) scored 11 points, Mike Miklusak (11) added 10 and Robinson had 18 of his career-high 22 points by halftime.
“Our goal is to win the rest of our conference games. We are in one of the toughest conferences, and every team can beat you if you don’t give your best effort,” Gentz said.
The next game for Boys Basketball will be at Merrillville High School on Saturday, Jan. 21.
