The Chicago Marathon, the second largest marathon in the world, has over 40,000 runners from over 100 countries and from every state in the United States. Millions of spectators lined the streets of Chicago. The marathon covers 26.2 miles of ground through 29 of Chicago’s neighborhoods, all of which commemorate the culture and diversity that make Chicago unique. Runners had to mentally give everything they had to reach the finish line after running for hours.
