The Lady Indians took on Portage at home on Saturday, Jan. 14. The girls put in a lot of effort during the game and defeated their opponent with a final score of 52-40.

“Before the game, I felt ready and locked in. After, I felt that we started off slow in the first half of the game, but came out in the second half and took control,” Rachael Robards (11) said.

Despite struggling through the first half, the girls pushed until the end and made sure that they took the lead over their opponents. Knowing that there is room for improvements, the girls will continue to work to better their skills for future games.

“I think we played pretty well tonight as a team, we could have guarded them better, but we pulled it out during the second half and corrected it. We can definitely improve our communication on the court as well as guarding people to our fullest potential and sticking together as a team,” Lauren Ladowski (11) said.

This game qualified the girls for the Duneland Athletic Conference, where they will now go on and continue to try to take down their opponents.
