Kendrick Lamar released his 10th album, “DAMN.” on Friday, April 14. Some of his previous albums are titled “untitled unmastered” (2016) and “good kid, m.A.A.d city” (2012).
This album has a slightly different tone to it, and addresses political and racial issues that the country is still facing on a daily basis. This album is thought of as his most self-conscious album, and perfectly represents Lamar’s ups and downs with his rise to fame, his God and his past.
Lamar brings in hints of jazz to this album, but continues with his impressive hip-hop elements.
This album has phenomenal collaborations within its 14 tracks, and it’s apparent that he took the time to find artists who fit the songs style. Rihanna, U2 and Zacari are featured on “DAMN.”
Lamar has released two music videos on Youtube for “DNA” and “Humble.” Fans can find the whole album on Apple Music and Spotify.
