The hit Showtime television series, “Shameless,” which is based off the British television show with the same name, has recently wrapped up its seventh season. The series first aired on Jan. 9, 2011 and aired its final episode of Season 7 on Dec. 18, 2016. The show is planning to return for an eighth season this fall.
The show revolves around the Gallaghers, a family that resides in the south-side of Chicago. The family consists of an alcoholic father, a mentally-ill mother and a daughter who takes care of her five siblings. The siblings, from oldest to youngest, are Fiona (Emmy Rossum), Phillip (Jeremy Allen White), Ian (Cameron Monaghan), Debbie (Emma Kenney), Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) and Liam (Brendan and Brandon Sims.) Its lead actors are Emmy-award winning actor, William H. Macy, who plays the father, Frank and Emmy Rossum. “Shameless” was nominated for a GLAAD Award in 2016 for Outstanding Drama Series.
The show’s pilot had a total of 982,000 viewers and its most recent season finale had 1.72 million viewers.
