Morgan Grudzien (12) tryed out for the All-State team and was selected. Grudzien is the first LC cheerleader to make it in a long time.

After cheering for six years, Morgan Gruzdien’s (12) career changed after she was announced on the All-State team as 1 out of 12 girls from a pool of 53 cheerleaders.

“The All State team is a group of 12 seniors who are selected by submitting an individual video to be on the team,” Grudzien said.

Following the footsteps of past Lake Central cheerleaders, Grudzien decided to try out for the team.

“It felt really good to be named on the All-State team. I honestly did not think I had a chance but when my coach called and told me I made it I was flipping out and was beyond excited,” Grudzien said.

Grudzien was one of the first Lake Central cheerleaders to make the All-State team in a long time.

“The cheerleaders on the All-State team do get scholarship money and we all got together and did a short cheer at state. We were also announced by name to do our hardest pass,” Grudzien said.

Since making the All-State team, Grudzien hopes to cheer in college.

“I would love to continue my cheerleading career in college and continue to get better,” Grudzien said.
