The Junior Varsity Boys Wrestling team faced Valparaiso in a home match on Wednesday, December 5th. Valparaiso, being undefeated, was ready to take down Lake Central, but did not get the score they were hoping for. The JV boys took down their opponents and led the team to victory. As the team won all of their matches, the ending score was 55-0. With the season just starting, the team was excited to get the second win of the season.
“So far we’ve done really good, the boys have been doing amazing. One of the JV boys, Seth Garcia (10), is undefeated this year, and I believe this season is going to be great this year.” Mat maid, Keri Ferry (11) said.
The JV boys are better than before and have shown improvement from years before. Everyone has shown the determination that it takes to take home a win. The boys have high hopes of a good season this year.
“This season is good this year, we have a young team this year, but overall we’ve been doing really well to fill our spots and have everyone show up when they need to for the weight classes so that they can get the job done. This year we are 2-0 with the dual meets so far against Michigan City and Valparaiso and we have had several placers for the tournament we just had.” Juli Ponce (12) said.
Come out and support the boys wrestling as they take on Crown Point next Wednesday.
