Hoping to follow Friday night’s big win with another victory over Munster, JV football took the field with their heads in the game.
“I think varsity played well. I think any time you open the year and you win a game 40 to nothing that’s a good start. JV did a good job on Saturday morning as well. They won 26-21, so it’s always a good start to the year when both teams can win,” Coach Brett St. Germaine said.
Starting off the game strong, Brandon Scott (10) scored the first touchdown quickly within the first quarter.
“I was excited and I was thankful when my line blocked,”Scott said.
St. Germain has high expectations for his varsity teams again this year, after their great success last season.
“Last year we were the conference champs so we’re looking to repeat, that would be step one. Step two is to make a deep run in the playoffs. We lost in the first round of the playoffs last year. We’d like to think that we’re going to stick around a little bit, hang around in the playoffs a little bit longer,” St. Germain said.
JV has been working hard all summer for this well-earned victory over the Mustangs. The team is hoping their luck will continue for the rest of the season.
