Put another “W” in the books for the Tribe’s racket-wielders.
The boys tennis team beat East Chicago Central by a score of 5-0 in Friday’s match. The Indians were expected to win, and did not disappoint.
“Going into the match, my partner [Kyle Crawford (12)] and I decided we were planning to work on some things while we played,” Brad Staszewski (12) said.
The road to victory was the team’s second win of their campaign. The team has a high level of focus heading into conference play, which begins tomorrow at home against Merrillville.
“Conference play means that it is time to get real. We have to play our best tennis every match. None of these teams can be taken lightly, so it is important to get into the right mindset,” Kyle Crawford (12) said.
The win was a confidence-builder for the Indians.
“I think we have a solid team that can hold up under pressure. I think some of the teams [we play] might be surprised,” Crawford said.
The team has two matches this week, tomorrow against Merrillville, and at Crown Point on Thursday.
