LC JV football shut out the Portage Indians Saturday morning with a 34-14 victory.
LC had a slow first half resulting in a tied halftime score of 14-14. The LC Indians kicked it into gear the second half scoring numerous touchdowns to take the lead.
“We really came alive in the second half, which propelled us to a big win over Portage,” Jack Kuehner (10) said.
Charles Sykes (10), originally a free-safety, was switched to running back last minute; however, this was no set back for Sykes who scored two touchdowns, assisting LC in their victory. Kuehner and Kenneth Singleton (10) also had key plays to add to the scoreboard.
Despite a slow start, the LC players were thrilled with the conclusion of the game.
“I was very happy with the outcome, I think we just out-worked them and wore them down in the end. If we keep this up, we will have a great season,” Logan Lambert (10) said.
JV will continue to work hard and think positive for next week’s game against Crown Point.
