Every year, Dunkin’ Donuts releases special drinks for the holidays.  This year they came out with a new Sugarplum Macchiato (hot or iced), Signature Peppermint Mocha Latte, and Signature Gingerbread Iced Latte. The Sugarplum Macchiato is special because it is one of the first ombre drinks on Dunkin’s menu. The first drink being the Pink Velvet Macchiato, which was a Valentine’s day limited-time drink.  

When I tried the drink I honestly couldn’t put my finger on what the drink tasted like. It had the coffee taste and then had the taste of berries and chocolate. After trying to figure out what it tasted like, I felt it tasted like an orange-flavored chocolate mixed with a cherry-chocolate that you find in assorted chocolate boxes. I’ve never tried a sugarplum before, so I can’t say it tasted like one.  

I recommend this holiday drink because it is something new, and it has a nice taste. I even went a second time and got the drink again. The drink was very smooth and didn’t have too much of a sweet taste. Also, I loved how the colors of the drink was a brown to purple ombre. I feel the presentation and the different flavor of the drink are what really sold me.
