What really goes on with the Royal Family
March 29, 2021
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are the senior members of the Royal family and Duch and Duchess of Sussex. In 2020, the two announced that they would be stepping down from their senior roles and will begin to split their time between North America and the U.K.
On March 7, 2021, Meghan and Harry had an interview with Oprah Winfrey about their side of the story about the royal family. They discussed multiple topics throughout their interview over serious matters inside their family.
Meghan revealed that when she was pregnant with her first child, Archie, a member of the royal family raised concerns over how dark Archie’s skin might be. She later mentioned that Archie’s “too dark skin” would be a problem for her in-laws, but never revealed which royal member raised this concern.
There was also an argument about if Archie would be a future prince when he grows up. He is seventh in line for the throne, but a raised concern was his race and the color of his skin. Archie is not entitled to the throne due to rules set that date back to 100 years ago.
Meghan also shared her side of the story of what really happened with Kate Middleton, Meghan’s sister-in-law, right before Meghan and Harry were married. During the dress fitting for bridesmaids, reports said that Meghan made Kate cry, when really it was the opposite.
Kate had shared with Meghan that she had been upset with the flower girl dresses which made Meghan cry. Later, however, Kate made amends and sent Meghan flowers and a note apologizing.
Meghan and Harry shared their stories and the truth behind what’s going on with the royal family and why they took a step away from them. Many people all throughout the world tuned in to watch this interview and learned Meghan and Harry’s side of the story between them and the rest of the royal family.
