On Saturday morning, JV football team took home another win against Michigan City.
The news of varsity losing the night before against the Wolves was in the players’ minds. The pressure was on, but the boys would not let it get to them.
“It was a disappointment when varsity lost, knowing they outworked us. It was a hard for us because it’s the first game we lost this season,” Michael Goin (11) said.
The first touchdown of the game was made in the second quarter by Colin Studer (9) just in time for halftime. With excitement of being ahead, Goin ran 11 yards, scoring another touchdown for Lake Central, bringing the score to 14-0.
“It’s a good feeling to score and know you’re helping out the team. [It] felt like redemption making up for Friday night,” Goin said.
Brandon Scott (10) then scored another two touchdowns for the Indians.
“It was pretty exciting for us. It helped us be on top. [A] seal the game type thing,” Scott said.
Taking home another victory, Lake Central ended the game on a good note, winning 27-0.
“It wasn’t an easy win. It was very difficult. The score may have not showed it, but they put up a good fight,” Scott said.
