On Wednesday, September 6, the Lady Indians fought against the Marist Redhawks. During the first set it was a close call of 20-25. The second set was also a hard loss of 11-25. Sadly, the third set finalized their loss since the score was 14-25. After three tough sets, the girls lost the game.
“We knew going into the game that it would be a hard team to fight against and we just had to find a strategy to get some good points off of them. I think that the first time we did that, but then as it got towards the second set, we were kind of scared and tired,” Brooke Tinberg (12) said.
The girls mutually understood that the game would be difficult and they would have to try their absolute best. Unfortunately, the team’s energy was not as strong as they hoped for. Luckily, this is just one game out of many and the team has many more games and opportunities to obtain a win in the future.
“I feel like we just didn’t give it our all like we probably could have and I think it will just help us along in the season, to play harder teams and we’re going to be able to stick with them eventually.”
The girls tried their best during the match and will try even harder during practice. One of the main goals of the team is to become more connected which will help with future games.
“I think that as a team, we need to just overcome obstacles a little bit better when things are going bad instead of crashing, like we did last year.” Milica Tomic (12) said.
