Six months after making history, the 2012 boys baseball team got their rings to commemorate that fateful night in Indianapolis where they claimed the IHSAA 4A State Championship title.
“I feel amazing. I’m so glad to put this [ring] on my finger. I’m going to be wearing it all week,” Steven Fulk (12) said.
After the months of hard work leading up to the win, the championship game on June 16 was the payoff day. Dec. 18 was just a reminder of all the hard work.
“Since we won, it’s always been in my mind that we were State Champs, but now it’s finished and we have to work for next season so we can get another one under our belt,” Anthony Schneider (12) said.
Conditioning has already started for the 2013 season, and the boys already know what needs to be done.
“Hopefully everyone realizes in their head that it’s going to be a hell of a team effort this year if we want to go anywhere in the playoffs,” Antonio Majstorov (12) said.
From the intense effort will most likely come success. To an optimist, the effort will result in success and a second State title for the school. Either way, hard work will give a team results.
“Everything pays off in the end,” Alec Olund (11) said.
