Despite a slow start to the game, JV boys just managed to beat the Portage Indians 21-20.
“I don’t think we had our best game, we could’ve had more energy,” Michael Barrins (11) said.
The game was off to a slow start, but the boys scored six points with just under two minutes left in the first quarter. However, Portage quickly came back to score two points to wrap up the quarter.
“I wish I would have played better but I’m glad we still got the win,” Alexander Nisla (10) said.
Things picked up in the second quarter with a score of 11-6 with two minutes left in the half. Portage scored two more points to conclude the half, 11-8. The remainder of the game really picked up and LC dominated the court. They finished off the game with a close score of 21-20.
“It was good to get revenge and beat them at home,” Nisle said.
JV took on East Chicago at home last night 60-54. Their next is tomorrow night at Valparaiso.
