On Feb. 23 the Centralettes performed at the annual IHSTDA Regional Competition. The Centralettes placed first in all the categories that the danced in.
“Overall I think the competition went really well there were a lot of different teams that competed in different categories and overall I think it went well.” Kristina Dombovic(12) said.
JV got scores of 84.37 in hip hop and 91.67 in jazz. Varsity got a score of 89.87 in hip hop and 95.27 in jazz.
“It was personally my best competition, but as a team our best competition was at Homestead because we got a 97, but we are doing better every week.” Dombovic said.
The team will be going to Florida in two weeks to perform at the national level.
“I’m really excited for nationals I think we’ll do very well. We’ve worked really hard to get where we are.” Emma Hupp(10) said.
For Dombovic being a senior this will be her last State and Nationals.
“I’m really excited but at the same time it’s bittersweet because it’s nice looking back at all I’ve accomplished through the past 4 years. But it’s also kind of sad because it’s going to be my last nationals and state ever. It’s definitely really sad but it hasn’t really hit me yet.” Dombovic said.
