On April 25, the girls tennis team had a match against Portage: the first match in their DAC meets.
“We didn’t play our best at this meet, I feel that we need to work on hitting harder,” Vanessa Olson (12) said.
The varsity team lost 3-2 while the JV team won 7-1.
“We should have been able to beat Portage, our team has more talent it was just a very off day,” Olson said.
Kathryn Toth played a three-hour match and ended up losing the first match 3-6, won the second match 7-3, and won the third match 7-6.
“We have a problem where we start off slow and start doing better towards the end, we need to start off strong and stay strong throughout the match,” Olson said.
More conference matches are going to be going on throughout the tennis season.
“This week is going to be a very hard week so we’ll try to come out strong to finish strong,” Olson said.
