On Tuesday, April 30, the boys golf team traveled to Palmira Golf Club to host a tournament against Crown Point and Portage. Not faltering in the 80-85 degree weather, the boys won with a score of 168 alongside Crown Point’s 171 and Portage’s 185.
Varsity golfer Kyle Theil (11) praised the way his team performed.
“We did good. Everyone has the ability to shoot a low score and we have a good team that can go far,” Theil said.
Though golfers walked the entire range of the golf course under the sun in long pants and their polos, the heat seemed to work in their advantage.
“It was nice to finally have warm weather instead of it being cold or rainy. It makes golf more enjoyable and you don’t have to worry about the rain or the grips being soaked,” Theil said
While varsity golfer Ryan Wells (10) says the team performed well, he thinks some improvements can be made.
“We’re doing pretty good [this season]. We did good yesterday given the weather conditions. [We can improve by] being more focused and getting more practice time,” Wells said.
