The May 8 game against the LaPorte Slicers wasn’t just an ordinary game for softball. With a tie, a normal 7-inning game turned into 12. Scoring the winning run was an exciting moment for the Indians.
“It was the bottom of the 12th inning, and Melanie Pabon (11) was the first one up to bat and after the first pitch hit a walk off home run that won us the game”, Elizabeth Seymour (11) said.
The weather was near perfect for a softball game. Reaching the high 70s, many fans crowded the bleachers on this warm Wednesday night.
“The weather made it more enjoyable to play and helped us focus on playing. The fans got us pumped throughout the game and with our JV team there too, everyone was cheering us on”, Aspyn Novak (10) said.
The Lady Indians next game is away on May 9 against Portage.
