On Tuesday, May 7, boys golf played a match at Summer Tree in Crown Point.
“We played not fully to our potential, but we had moments of good golf,” Matthew Meneghetti (11) said.
JV won first place with 171 against Valparaiso’s score of 178. Varsity won second place with 165 against Valparaiso’s 152 and Merrillville’s 202.
“I played good but I had a bad hole and I had to take a penalty for a lost ball,” Cory Dickelman (11) said.
This match counts toward the conference whilst their tournament on Friday, May 10 counted toward state rankings.
“Twenty high schools participate annually in this tournament. If you win, you get a trophy. A conference is against one or two teams. We’re tied with second with Crown Point and Chesterton,” Meneghetti said.
