On May 16 the LGI room was transformed into St. George, Utah, by the Drama II class. The class performed the play “High School Spoofical” as their last show.
“This show is a parody of ‘High School Musical’ with nearly identical characters that get into funny situations,” John Hearne (11) said.
The Drama II class runs throughout the year, producing small plays and teaching acting techniques.
“I’ve gotten better with my facial expressions, and when I’m not talking, I do my own actions so I’m not just standing there. More acting experience helps you grow as a character,” Lauren Bourget (11) said.
Students have the opportunity to be in Drama II with the prerequisite of taking the Drama I class. For the some seniors in the class, this is their last high school show.
“[It feels] amazing. I’ve never gotten to play a flamboyant guy before. I really liked it. It was pretty fun,” Jacob Quintanilla (12) said.
The last show of the year is on May 29 in the LGI. Tickets are sold at the door for $3 each. The doors open at 6:30 p.m.
