On Tuesday, May 21, three pole vaulters went to Chesterton to compete at Regionals. The girls not only came together as a team, but displayed individual strength as well, advancing to State.
“We have been working literally for three years to get where we are right now,” Brooke Lambert (11) said.
Lambert beat the 12-1 record, setting it at 12-3. Breaking the record did not come easy, but the girls developed a sense of unity as pole vaulters and worked until the victory was theirs.
“We’ve all grown as people and grown together and became so close, and I couldn’t imagine a better group of girls to be accomplishing such an incredible thing with. I’m so proud of us,” Lambert said.
The track team will travel to Bloomington on June 1 to wrap up its season at the State meet.
